What is the QLD Battery Rebate?
The 2024 QLD battery rebate "Battery Booster program" is an initiative by the Queensland Government designed to tackle the cost-of-living crisis while accelerating the transition to a more environmentally-friendly energy landscape. What are the QLD Battery Rebate programme eligibility criteria?
Queensland Government 2024 Battery Rebate requirements include;
- Battery purchase date: Home battery systems will only be eligible if purchased on or after 12 February 2024
- Minimum battery system size: A minimum 6 kilowatt hour (kWh) battery purchased from an approved battery systems list
- Approved battery system: Solargain's top quality battery systems include BYD, iStore and Tesla - all approved by the 2024 QLD Battery Booster program. A full list of approved battery systems can be found on the Queensland Government website here
- Minimum solar PV system size: You must have a 5kW or greater Solar PV system installed at the same time as your battery; or add a battery to a pre-existing system of the same size
- Registered property owner: You must be the registered owner of the property located in Queensland
- Safety inspection: You must agree to a government-appointed inspector to visit your home to check for safety requirements
- Maximum income: You must have a combined annual household taxable income of $180,000 or less
- Approved installer: Solargain is a registered approved installer for the 2024 Battery Booster program. The list of approved installers can be found on the Queensland Government website here.
