Has your Orion inverter stopped working? Is it displaying ‘relay failure’? Please read on.
What is a relay failure?
If your Orion inverter is indicating that it has experienced a relay failure, this means a component inside your inverter has failed. Without this component, the inverter cannot function and produce electricity.
We recommend you contact Solargain to arrange a health check in order to confirm the nature of the fault. If a permanent relay failure has occurred, the inverter will need to be replaced. Fortunately, we carry suitable replacement inverters with us, so we can switch out the faulty unit and replace it with a new one, all in the one day.
Is a relay failure fault covered under Orion’s warranty or under household insurance?
Given that the warranty on your Orion inverter has probably now expired, it is unlikely you’ll be covered by warranty. However, the cost of rectifying an inverter relay failure may be covered by your household insurance policy. We recommend you contact your insurer to confirm your policy coverage and, if you need help making an insurance claim, Solargain can help.
What should I do about a relay failure fault in my Orion inverter?
Step one is to call Solargain to book a health check. Our experienced technicians will perform a full inspection of your system and will determine whether the relay failure is permanent or not. If we need to replace the faulty inverter, we suggest either a Growatt, Zeverlution or Fronius Galvo 2 inverter. Please contact us to discuss your options.
