Has your Sharp JH1600E inverter stopped working and developed an F-00 fault?
What is an F-00 fault?
This type of fault can indicate high grid voltage levels. We recommend you check that the main ‘solar supply’ switch in your metre box is on. If it is, we recommend you then call us for assistance.
Will my warranty or household insurance policy cover an F-00 fault?
Unfortunately, Sharp does not offer much support for this type of fault. If you wish to make a warranty claim, you will need to disconnect and send your inverter off to a designated service centre in Sydney. They will inspect it and decide whether it qualifies for repairs or replacement under warranty. If your system isn’t covered, you can pay $300 for an out-of-warranty repair job. This process takes around four weeks and is often more expensive (once you take into account your system’s downtime) than simply purchasing a new replacement inverter.
What’s the best way of resolving an F-00 fault?
Solargain is happy to assist you with returning your faulty inverter to Sharp for repairs or replacement. However, the out-of-pocket expenses involved in this process are usually higher than buying a new inverter. With this in mind, we recommend you replace your faulty Sharp inverter with a 1.5kW solar power inverter. The Fronius Galvo 1.5 is our pick as it comes with an excellent warranty and is the perfect size to replace the Sharp JH1600.
It is also worth considering upgrading to a bigger capacity inverter to make the most out of your solar power system’s energy output. To get the ball rolling, simply give us a call on 1300 73 93 55 or get in touch with us online.
